UNHP 2020 Affordable Housing Webinar & Fundraiser - Video link


This year with COVID-19 changing daily life, UNHP hosted a well-attended affordable housing webinar and fundraiser to explore issues raised in the current health and economic crisis and its impact on affordable housing, multifamily finance, and neighborhood needs. While we were not together physically, we were together in spirit, purpose, and mission.

UNHP’s Affordable Housing Webinar was held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm. The webinar was a Bronx-focused look at the issues that have been brought to the forefront in our community during COVID-19. These three recent COVID-19 blog posts, The Struggle to Preserve Affordable Housing, Trends in Bronx Multifamily Finance, and The Deadly Consequences of the Bronx Reality, will form the foundation for the webinar presentation along with updated information on the struggle to preserve mission-driven affordable housing, changes in multifamily buildings sales values, finances and conditions as well as emerging neighborhood needs around health, technology, and financial services. The Webinar, hosted on Enterprise Community Partner’s expanded Zoom meeting platform, offered a presentation by UNHP staff. speakers

The UNHP Affordable Housing Webinar featured leaders in the health and community services field in the Bronx. Eleanor Larrier MPA CEO (bottom left) of Bronx Community Health Network, Christina Hanson, Executive Director of Part of The Solution (POTS), and John Garcia, Executive Director of Fordham Bedford Community Services will respond to the presentation. UNHP staff members provided the UNHP Affordable Housing Webinar research and presentation focusing on the long-standing issues that have been brought to light during COVID-19, the struggle to preserve community affordable housing, the need to preserve affordable multifamily rental housing in NYC, and the community needs.
