The University Neighborhood Housing Program’s (UNHP) community resource guide at www.unhp.org/crg.html is a wonderful model for making some sense out of the bewildering amount of information on-line. The site covers demographics, crime, health, education, housing and more. While lists of specific links are tailored for New York City, many parts of the site (such as census, banking and community reinvestment data) could be useful to any user nationwide. One of the site’s most unique features is its step-by-step guidance through the complicated labyrinths of the census website by means of a separate frame at the bottom of the screen. This site works!
