step 1
finding the right kind of data

What kind of data are you looking for?

demographics
cra/banking
crime
education
employment
health/environment
housing / building information

Information and resources for NYC residents:

tenant rights/home ownership
welfare/social services
immigration
tax/credit/finance assistance

Example--> Let's say you are writing a grant proposal for a day-care program and needed figures on the percentage of households with single mothers in your community, you would select demographics (which includes population, housing, race and poverty).

Example--> If you are trying to find out which banks lend heavily in your neighborhood you would select banking/cra (which includes a variety of banking data).

Note--> Many of the links to other websites in the crg open in a new window. If you get lost somewhere because of this, hit the back button on your browser. If that doesn't work, minimize the window you are in and you might find yourself back where you left off at our site. Good luck!
