Improving, Preserving, & Creating Affordable Housing Bringing Resources to the Northwest Bronx


Organization: University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP), a community-based non-profit that works to create, preserve and improve affordable housing in the Bronx.)

Job Type: Full‐Time

Description: UNHP is seeking a full-time candidate to fill the position of Financial Associate. The position works closely with senior UNHP staff on bookkeeping, financial reporting and asset management of community-based affordable housing.


• Managing the regular functions of accounting: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and accounting systems

• Preparing and analyzing quarterly asset management reports

• Meeting regularly with senior staff to review budgets, make projections, and monitor expenses of UNHP Programs

• Being an active participant in the organization and assisting in our work to achieve our affordable housing mission


• BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably business, finance, accounting, statistics or economics-related degree

• Superior PC, database and reporting capabilities

• Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Access preferred

• A love of neighborhood and community work, numbers and spreadsheets

• Excellent communication skills for working in a small and dynamic office with many partners across the community, nonprofit, public and private sectors

• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Salary Range: $40,000+ (commensurate with experience)
